I start with a problem. Then I research which tools are recommended and I try them all to get a feel of their pros and cons. I may watch YouTube videos to understand the basics. After the exploration, I choose one tool and start solving my problem with it.
I like that approach. I'm not patient enough to try all the recommended tools. I might go with one or two and then I stick with it for a while. Also, I usually mix all of the three patterns above; but I like a really good course for an introduction into a topic. The thing I struggle most with is tutorial hell. But its getting better thanks to our GenAI friends.
